Museum 

　If you love science, art, and history, come and visit us at Funglish World! January is our museum month. We have exciting activities such as dinozaur mazes, painting photobooths, and item guessing. See you soon!

　お昼休みの英語活動ファングリッシュワールドでは、世界の博物館をテーマに英語のゲームを行っています！美術館、歴史博物館、科学博物館、それぞれのブースで新しい英単語を使って楽しんでいます！

Happy New Year!

     Happy new year, everyone! We are happy to welcome everyone back. Seeing the school staff, parents, and students again makes everyone excited for what great things await us in the last semester of the year. Let's have a great time again this year!

　新年明けましておめでとうございます！３学期のFunglishが始まりました！元気な子ども達の姿が見られて、嬉しいです！最後の学期、楽しく一緒に英語を学んでいきましょう！

Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas and happy new year, everyone! This year has been great and fun. We sure made some unforgettable memories in and outside the class, too. We look forward to the year ahead. But for now, have a wonderful holiday! See you after the break! 

　２学期のファングリッシュが終わりました！イベントがたくさんあり、とても楽しい学期でしたね！また１学期に☆メリークリスマス！

What do you want?

     We surely have some room for dessert! Our fourth graders welcomed customers and special guests as they opened their parfait shop. It's great to learn something useful in a fun way. This ends our unit on vegetables, fruits, and numbers. Well done!

     甘いものは別腹…と、よく耳にしますね！４年生は、可愛いパフェ屋さんをオープンし、校長先生や担任の先生を、お客さんとして、ご招待しました！店員さん役も、お客さん役も、とても上手に英語で言えましたね！

Get ready for Xmas!

     Christmas is coming and we wanted to make decorations so we asked for help. Thankfully, our students are not only active, but helpful as well. We made Santa hats, flowers, and other ornaments from paper. Thank you, everyone!

　１２月になり、クリスマスのシーズンですね！子どもたちは積極的にファングリッシュルームの飾り付けを手伝ってくれています！

Animals & Insects

   Do you like insects? Our students are now learning about them. Funglish world's theme for this month is about animals and insects! In the Philippines, insects are everywhere in the rainy season. They come in different colors and sizes. It's interesting to study life forms.

   昆虫は好きですか？お昼休みの活動、Funglish worldの、今月のテーマは、動物と昆虫です！フィリピンの雨季には、虫がたくさんでてきます。色も大きさも様々です。昆虫の生態を学ぶのはとても興味深いですね！

GTEC

　This week is a big one for our sixth graders who took the GTEC. The Global Test of English Communication (GTEC) aims to assess how much students learned throughout their years of studies. It was surely challenging for everyone, but it was a good way to see how much they have improved. Well done!

　６年生が、GTEC（ジーテック）を受けました。GTECとは、小学生から社会人までが英語力を測定できるスコア型英語4技能検定です。 「読む・書く・話す・聞く」の4つの技能を測ることができます。初めてのテストでしたが、集中してスムーズに行うことができました。

Learning Alphabet

　Our himawari students danced to the groove of the Alphabet song this week as we learned letters A-M. We played karuta, arranged the order of the letters, and matched half of the cards that make uppercase letters. It was a challenging yet fun lesson.

　ひまわりクラスでは、アルファベットの歌に合わせて踊りながら、AからMまでのアルファベットを学びました。カルタをしたり、文字の順番を並べたり、大文字のカード合わせをしました。みんなで協力し、楽しいレッスンになりました。

Run!

　The clear autumn sky is beautiful! Nishi Elementary School kids, known as “Children of the Sun,” began practicing for the marathon with ALTs.

　美しい秋晴れの下、ALTの先生達と一緒に、マラソン大会へむけて走り出しました！

Spelling 

   Can you spell your name in English? Our fourth graders definitely can! For this unit, they learned how to introduce themselves and say the letters on their names. They were really confident and we loved their energy. Way to go, fourth graders!

   自分の名前のスペルを言えますか？４年生は間違いなくできます！自己紹介の仕方と、自分の名前の文字の言い方を、学びました。本当に自信に満ちていて、私たちは４年生のエネルギッシュな発表が大好きでした！
